​VRアート、絵画、映像、インスタレーション、デジタルアート、陶芸など、多様な技法を組み合わせたミクストメディア作品を制作しています。近年は、VR空間を活用した「精神世界の可視化」を主題とし、密教の世界を表象して世界の方に体験して頂きました。

1987年からアートの仕事に携わってきましたが、2013年に大きな転機がありました。高野山の傳燈大阿闍梨であり密教学者でもある山崎泰廣住職とともに、約5年にわたりマンダラ制作に取り組んだ経験です。この共同制作を通じて、密教における「感性」と「論理」の両部不二の思考法を学び、現在の創作や研究活動の重要な指針となっています。

制作にあたっては、まず直感や感覚から仮説を立て、その後、フィールドワークと共に、宗教・民俗・古史伝承の文献、専門家の知見、比較宗教学や比較文化学の視点も取り入れ、多角的に検証しながら作品を形にしています。こうして生まれた作品は、国内外の展覧会で発表され、芸術と精神文化の融合を視覚的に提示しています。

2026年には、新たな展覧会の開催🔗縄文のアニミズムとシャーマニズムを予定しています。この展覧会では、古代の人々が自然とどのように向き合い、どのような精神世界や死生観を築いていたのかについて、芸術表現を通して考察します。古代の人々は、自らを自然の一部として捉え、恵みと脅威の双方を受け入れながら、感謝と祈りをもって生きていたと考えられます。一方、現代社会では物質的価値の偏重により精神文化との距離が広がり、自然破壊や社会的不安が深刻化しています。

本展を通じて、太古の精神性や自然観に今一度目を向け、現代を生きる私たちがどのように自然や社会と調和し共生できるのか──その問いを共有する場となれば幸いです。

I create mixed-media works that combine a variety of techniques, including VR art, painting, video, installation, digital art, and ceramics. In recent years, I've focused on "visualizing the spiritual world" using VR space, representing the world of esoteric Buddhism and providing experiences for people from all over the world.

I've been working in the arts since 1987, but a major turning point came in 2013. I spent about five years creating mandalas with the late Chief Priest Taiko Yamazaki, a Dento Daiajari of Mount Koya and a scholar of esoteric Buddhism. This collaborative work taught me the esoteric Buddhist method of thinking, which combines emotion and logic, and has become an important guidepost in my current creative and research activities.

When creating a work, I first formulate hypotheses based on intuition and feeling. I then conduct fieldwork, incorporating literature on religion, folklore, and ancient history, the insights of experts, and the perspectives of comparative religion and cultural studies, examining them from multiple angles to shape my work. The resulting works have been exhibited both in Japan and abroad, visually presenting the fusion of art and spiritual culture.

A new  Exhibition 🔗Jomon Animism and Shamanism is planned for 2026. This exhibition will explore, through artistic expression, how ancient people interacted with nature and the spiritual worlds and views on life and death they developed. It is believed that ancient people viewed themselves as part of nature, accepting both its blessings and threats, and lived with gratitude and prayer. Meanwhile, in modern society, an overemphasis on material values ​​has distanced people from spiritual culture, exacerbating environmental destruction and social unrest.

I hope that this exhibition will provide an opportunity to reexamine ancient spirituality and views on nature, and share the question of how we, living in the modern age, can coexist in harmony with nature and society.​
