Gekkeikan Sake

Gekkeikan established in 1637 in Khoto, Japan. It has 380 Years & 14 Generations of History.

It was a great honor for me to illustrate Gekkeikan's gold-floured sake, a limited edition for the New Year, a long-standing and traditional brand. Since ancient times, in Japan, when the New Year came, sake was offered and drunk to welcome the New Year's deity (the god of New Year), ward off evil spirits and celebrate the New Year. Even today, it is customary to drink sake as sacred sake at the first shrine visit of the year, and it is an indispensable part of the New Year.

The Seven Lucky Gods depicted in this illustration are gods who symbolize happiness and prosperity, and each has their own unique role and personality, making them the perfect symbol for New Year's celebrations. I drew this with all my heart, hoping that by superimposing the auspicious omens of the Seven Lucky Gods on a beautiful bottle sparkling with gold flakes, viewers will feel hope and happiness in the new year.
