木目込み人形は、京都・下賀茂神社の催事で使われた柳箪（奉納箱）を作った職人が、余った木材で人形を作ったことが始まりとされ、300年近い歴史を持ちます。私はその伝統を受け継ぎ、一体一体に心を込めて制作しています。木目込み人形の魅力は、精緻な彫刻と、その上から衣装を丁寧に押し込む独特の技法にあります。どの作品も、手仕事の温もりと細やかな美しさを感じていただけるよう、大切に仕上げています。

Kimekomi Dolls

Kimekomi dolls have a history of nearly 300 years, and are said to have originated when a craftsman who made willow votive boxes used in events at Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto started making dolls from leftover wood. I have inherited that tradition, and I create each and every one of them with all my heart. The appeal of Kimekomi dolls lies in their intricate carvings and the unique technique of carefully pressing the costumes on top of them. I carefully finish each piece so that you can feel the warmth and delicate beauty of handwork.
