世界遺産・仁和寺の重要文化財・観音堂が６年間に及ぶ大規模修理を終え2019年に特別公開が行われました。現在、本尊の千手観音菩薩、二十八部衆をはじめとする33体の仏像は再び非公開になっています。そのため、新しい試みとして日本のみならず世界の方にも場所を問わず多言語でご覧いただけるように、VRアートで鑑賞していただくプロジェクトが文化庁と仁和寺で始まりました。

A new worship method in VR
This VR project is with The world heritage site Ninnaji temple and the Japan Ministry for Cultural Affairs. I was in charge of VR art and art direction.Ninnaji Temple was briefly opened to the public after 6 years of large scale repairs. It is now once again closed to the public, but the Ninnaji VR experience allows people from all over the world to experience the 33 Buddha statues inside of the structure, including the Senju-kannon. Select from 4 different languages: English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean.It is a great honor to be able to participate in such a wonderful and monumental Japanese project as a VR artist.
